KEZIA GILL
"She is no doubt one of Britain's finest, soon to be one of the World's finest!"
- EDITOR OF MAVERICK MAGAZINE
Midlands based Singer/Songwriter Kezia Gill, has been singing professionally for over 15 years. Born in Nottingham to a large musical family of Irish decent, her early years were spent surrounded by music. Her father, a professional musician for over 50 years and her single biggest influence, introduced Kezia to the world of performing, writing and most importantly, the vast back catalogue of music that has shaped her individual style. Pulling influences from a wide range of genres including Folk & Irish, Country, Rock and Blues, her sound is completely unique. She performs all over the UK, as well as the world, including previous shows in Europe, Australia and America. Her individual and uncomparable style is not only evident in her original material, but laced throughout her wide repertoire of classic covers. With her impressive vocal range, energy on stage and multi-instrumental talent, she makes every song her own.
Multi-award winning Singer/Songwriter Kezia Gill is one of the most exciting artists on the Country/Americana scene. Her unique voice and deep-rooted talent has seen her gain support from Bob Harris at BBC Radio 2, as well as winning 'Best Female' at the 2019 British CMA's, where she was nominated for five awards. That same year she performed in Nashville at both The Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.
With Kezia's early influences of rock and blues deep rooted within her, she intends to spread her wings and explore a more "Americana" Sound. Kezia's single 'All of Me' reached Number 1 on the Singer/Songwriter iTunes Charts and the same week, Maverick Magazine exclusively announced her much anticipated 2021 EP Release 'The Mess I Made' which charted at Number 2 on the Singer/Songwriter iTunes chart.
Her music and charismatic presence has created a huge buzz within the music community and 2021 was a very exciting year for her. She headlined Buckle and Boots Festival, performed at several other festivals and live events, including a pop up performance at HMV in Brighton, 'An Evening with Bob Harris' when he chose her to support his show in London, she had a sold out headline theatre show, toured with The Shires and also hit the road with Jade Helliwell on the Girl Country Tour. The British CMA's saw her take home three awards (Entertainer, Album and Song of the year!) and the same month she had a full page feature in the printed Maverick Magazine celebrating Homegrown talent.
To close out the year, Kezia was announced as a global Takamine Artist and joined the roster with legends such as Garth Brooks, Bruce Springsteen and Blake Shelton!
2022 saw Kezia hit the ground running and it's looking like it will be her best year yet as she released a duet with another British CMA Winner, Tim Prottey-Jones in January - a reimagined version of the 90's classic 'Cotton Eye Joe' which got its exclusive first airplay on BBC Radio 2 on The Country Show with Bob Harris. Her live performance calendar is extremely busy as we saw her go back on the road with The Shires for all 26 dates of their 'Ten Year Plan' tour, she had a lot of fun on a handful of dates with Morganway in Scotland and opened for Tony Hadley on several dates of his 40th Anniversary tour which widened her audience further. Festival season started with C2C at the O2 in London which saw her perform across 3 stages, including a full capacity Town Square. Following this, Global Live Performance Booking Agency, Wasserman Music snapped Kezia up and we appointed one of their best booking agents to expand Team Kezia. A big highlight of festival season was at The Black Deer when she shared the stage during a writers round with US Artist Cam, where they did a duet of Cam's hit song 'Diane' - a real pinch-me moment! With the announcement of her first UK Headline Tour and new music on the horizon, we are expecting 2022 to be a dynamite year for this powerhouse as she continues to build on her success!
The song writing ability of a country artist, the stage energy of a rock star, and the voice of the blues... What's coming next from this exciting artist is definitely worth sticking around for.
" Nothing beats doing what you love for a living. The fact that people keep supporting me means I can live my dream every day" - Kezia Gill
